Volvo Trucks names General Truck Sales 2016 North American Dealer of the Year

Volvo Trucks has selected General Truck Sales its 2016 Dealer of the Year for North America. Volvo Trucks also honored its top dealers in Canada and Mexico. The 2016 Canada Dealer of the Year is Mid-Ontario Truck Centre of Barrie, Ontario, and the 2016 Mexico Dealer of the Year is Tractoremolques del Noroeste, SA de CV of Culiacán, Sinaloa.

The annual North American Dealer of the Year award recognized General Truck Sales of Muncie, Indiana and its employees for outstanding performance in a number of key areas, including new truck sales, market share, parts sales, customer satisfaction, dealer operating standards, franchise investment and support for other dealers.

"General Truck Sales performed very well in a difficult market in 2016, going above and beyond their organizational goals and consistently delivering outstanding service and support to Volvo Trucks customers," said Jeff Lester, senior vice president of sales for Volvo Trucks North America. "We appreciate owner Steve Bassett and the whole General Truck Sales team for their continuous customer focus and commitment to success."

Bassett's dealership greatly exceeded its sales objectives, actively served a diverse group of customers and all technicians at General Truck Sales maintain Volvo Master Technician certification. General Truck Sales has been in operation since 1958 and was previously named Volvo Trucks' North American Dealer of the Year in 2006 and 2010.
